P270K ‘shabu’ seized from 5 drug suspects in Rizal, Cavite

Police arrested two rookies in the illegal drug trade and seized over P804,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Tayabas City in Quezon province on Monday night, report said Tuesday.LUCENA CITY––Police arrested five drug suspects, one of them armed, and seized P272,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations Friday in Antipolo City, Rizal province, and Bacoor City, Cavite province.

The Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police reported that anti-illegal drug operatives collared around 2:30 a.m. Ricardo Villanueva after selling a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Cupang in Antipolo.

Authorities seized 25 grams of shabu in nine sachets valued at P170,000.

Police also found the suspect carrying an undocumented and loaded .45-caliber pistol.

In Bacoor City, police nabbed Ferdinand Arciaga, Jonald dela Peña, Ricardo Gervacio, and Teodulo Bibat during another drug sting operation at 4:10 a.m. in Barangay Molino 1.

The suspects yielded eight sachets of shabu weighing 15 grams and worth P102,000.

The police said the suspects were detained and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Villanueva will also face a formal complaint about illegal possession of a firearm and a violation of the election period gun ban. INQ
