MANILA, Philippines — Beyond his tough image and unflinching stance against corruption, presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson may also take pride in having maintained his skin clear — and his good taste for sneakers.
INQUIRER.net posted a photo of Lacson sitting on a pew at the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Parish in Daet, Camarines Norte on March 2, Ash Wednesday, to kick off the Bicol leg of his and running mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III’s campaign for the May elections.

Responding to the compliments, Lacson commented on the INQUIRER.net photo, saying: “Lilinawin ko lang po na Ash Wednesday ngayon kaya ako dumaan sa simbahan. Hindi Air Jordan Wednesday. Puro tungkol sa sapatos ko ang comments niyo.”
(I want to make it clear that today is Ash Wednesday. That is why I passed by the church. Not Air Jordan Wednesday. Your comments are all about shoes.)
The senator was also asked to reveal his secret to good skin and in being in tiptop shape despite his age.
“TOTOO po bang 73 years old na kayo Ping Lacson. Skin care reveal po,” a Facebook user said.

The senator gamely replied: “[T]otoo, 73 years old na ako. Pero sabi ng doktor, 58 years old ang body age ko.”
(It is true, I am already 73 years old. But the doctor said, my body age is 58 years old.)
