MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said on Wednesday afternoon that the eastern portion of the Philippines will have overcast skies and rain in the next 24 hours due to the easterlies.
In its latest forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said easterlies will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and the regions of Caraga and Davao.
It warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rain.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms brought about by easterlies or localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Flooding and landslides may also occur in these areas during severe thunderstorms, it added.
The government weather service also said that the extreme Northern Luzon will have moderate winds from northeast to east and moderate coastal waters while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from east to northeast with slight to moderate sea conditions.
Meanwhile, Pagasa reported that it recorded a minimum temperature of 21.8°C (5:30 a.m.) and a maximum temperature of 33.1°C (3:03 p.m.) at its Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, on Wednesday.
Pagasa likewise said that the sun had set at 6:04 p.m. on Wednesday and it will rise at 6:12 a.m. on Thursday, March 3.
