2 more Pampanga towns now COVID-free
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Two more towns in this province no longer have active COVID-19 cases, data from the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit showed.
This brought to five the towns in Pampanga that are now free of the viral disease.
In its latest update dated Feb. 28, the provincial government said the lone case in Candaba and the 17 patients in Guagua have recovered from COVID-19.
Masantol, Minalin, and Sasmuan towns were the first to become COVID-free last week.
Arayat, Bacolor, Macabebe, and San Luis have a single case each as of Feb. 28.
Article continues after this advertisementThe provincial government said Santo Tomas town had the most active cases at 22, followed by Floridablanca with 16 and Lubao with 15.
Article continues after this advertisementSo far, the total active cases in Pampanga stand at 96.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, the provincial government has recorded 56,473 COVID-19 cases, of which 53,795 had recovered while 2,582 had died.
While Pampanga is under Alert Level 1, the most relaxed COVID-19 status, the provincial government still advises people to continue wearing face masks and observing physical distancing in public places.
