Dead baby abandoned on street in Manila – police

MANILA, Philippines — A dead infant has been recovered on a street in Sta. Mesa, Manila early morning on Monday, authorities said.

The baby, who was apparently abandoned along Makisig Street in Barangay 623, Sta. Mesa, was approximately three to five months old, according to police.

Based on the photo provided by the Manila Police District, the infant was naked and still has his umbilical cord attached to his navel.

Police said the baby was discovered around 9 a.m. Monday, and authorities were immediately deployed to the scene after receiving the report via telephone.
