MANILA, Philippines — The government’s reporting of COVID-19 data will be changed from daily to weekly basis, according to Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.
“Babaguhin po natin ang COVID-19 public reporting at gagawing weekly na,” Andanar said during President Rodrigo Duterte’s Talk to the People aired on Tuesday.

The reporting “will be changed from case counts to capacity, from infection to hospitalization and vaccination of the general population,” read Andanar’s presentation.
In a later Palace press briefing, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the weekly release of revised COVID-19 case bulletin will start on March 7.
“Starting March 7, that’s a Monday next week, we will be issuing a revised case bulletin kung saan magfofocus na po tayo sa [where we will focus on] severe and critical cases and the utilization in our ICUs [intensive care units],” she said.
Vergeire said the DOH will retain the COVID-19 tracker on its website for now, but the tracker will eventually be updated on a weekly basis like the case bulletin.
Meanwhile, Andanar said the government will also mandate or encourage all local government units and businesses to update or reactivate their COVID-19 safety plan guidelines and post it on their websites.
The government will also utilize paid and earned advertising to release Alert Level 1 materials and continue to promote minimum public health standards, vaccination, and proper airflow, among other information drives, according to Andanar.
