Wife dead, husband hurt in motorcycle accident in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A 60-year-old female back-rider died while her husband who was driving the motorcycle they were riding was injured in a road accident in San Narciso town, Quezon province on Friday, report said Saturday.

Quezon police reported that victim Susana Rado was riding pillion in her husband Eutillo’s motorcycle when they accidentally hit the side of a tricycle driven by Sander Khan Calusin that was about to park at the roadside in Barangay (village) Abuyon around 6:10 p.m.

Eutillo lost control of the motorcycle that Susana was thrown off and suffered head injuries when she hit the pavement. The husband, meanwhile, sustained head and body injuries.

Susana expired while being taken to the San Narciso Municipal Hospital in the town center.

The report did not state whether or not the victims were wearing crash helmets.

The police are conducting further investigation while Calusin remains under custody.
