BACOLOD CITY – Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson wanted Negros Occidental to remain under Alert Level 2 even if its COVID-19 cases were going down.

“I always like to stay cautious, especially during a campaign,” he said.

“Alert Level 2 is a reminder to everyone that COVID-19 is still around. Our numbers are going down, but any time they could go up again if we are not careful,” he added.

Negros Occidental had 15 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 522 active ones, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported on Thursday.
