MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — For the second time this year, Angeles City registered zero new COVID-19 cases, the city government announced on Thursday, Feb. 24.
In a Facebook post, the city government said it also recorded zero recoveries and no deaths related to the viral disease, maintaining its 12 active cases as of the said date.
Only nine of the highly urbanized city’s 33 villages have active COVID-19 cases. These include Balibago, Mining, and Pulung Maragul with two active cases each and Cuayan, Cutcut, Sta. Teresita, Sto. Cristo, Sto. Domingo and Sto. Rosario with one each.
Angeles City had recorded 14,526 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of that number, 13,978 had recovered, while 536 had died.
The city government said the continuing decline in cases was due to its massive vaccination and booster campaign against the viral disease.
