MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate and labor leader Leody de Guzman is looking into filing a case against individuals behind a scheme of alleged internet domain grabbing.
De Guzman learned that “kaleody.com” redirects to “bongbongmarcos.com,” the website of election frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
May ebidensya na tayo ng pag-redirect mula sa kaleody.com tungo sa bongbongmarcos.com,” the labor leader said in a statement Thursday.
(We are studying filing cases against perpetrators of domain grabbing. We have evidence of redirecting kaleody.com to bongbongmarcos.com.)
He noted that his campaign website is “kaleody.org.”
De Guzman said that the move aims to confuse voters and sabotage his campaign.
(It is clear that these “dirty tricks” intend to create confusion among voters and sabotage others’ campaigns.)
(We expect that elections of elitists and traditional parties will be dirty, but I did not expect that my name would be stolen. They have no mercy, they claim everything.)
The hopeful further appealed to authorities to investigate the incident.
Humanda sila’t hindi natin tatantanan sa ganitong kawalang-hiyaan!” he urged.
(I appeal to authorities to investigate this incident. They should be ready because we will not give up on this shamelessness!)
