LUCENA CITY––Anti-narcotics agents nabbed two former drug convicts in a buy-bust operation early Thursday, Feb. 24, in this city and seized over P248,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth).
In a report, Lt. Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, Lucena police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Louie Ann Valenzuela, 28, and Ramil Keleste, 38.
The two were allegedly caught selling shabu to an undercover police officer during the sting operation at 5:26 a.m. in Barangay Cotta.
Police said the suspects yielded seven sachets of shabu weighing 12.17 grams.
The confiscated meth has an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P82,756 and is worth P248,268 in the street market.
Rehabilitated drug users identified the suspects as two of the main suppliers of shabu in the village and nearby areas.
Both suspects had been convicted in previous drug cases and are on the list of identified street-level peddlers of shabu in the city.
Now jailed, the suspects face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
