No TRO vs gov’t printer
A Quezon City judge has thrown out the petition for a temporary restraining order against the APO Production Unit (APO) for it to stop operation.
Judge Evangeline C. Castillo–Marigo-men of Branch 101, Regional Trial Court in Quezon City dismissed the petition on June 15 after it was found out to be baseless and without merit.
The case filed by a certain Richard Oderon, an employee of the National Printing Office (NPO) who represented himself as a taxpayer and not as an NPO employee. He claimed in his suit that the Filipino taxpayer is the loser with the continued operations of APO, which has been printing security and accountable forms for government.
For the past few days, APO has been the subject of a smear campaign allegedly financed by a consortium of private printers and big paper suppliers of the NPO who were hurt by the house cleaning being implemented by present government. NPO has no working machine capable of printing required government forms for so many years and had to job out these requirements to the private sector.
