MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday said the number coding scheme will be suspended on Feb. 25, during the commemoration of the 36th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.

MMDA, however, has yet to announce if there will be road closures for the said celebration.

Currently, the number coding scheme is implemented weekdays for private vehicles from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., except holidays.

The MMDA earlier said it is also eyeing to expand the implementation of the coding scheme to include the rush hours in the morning as heavier traffic looms amid easing of travel restrictions in Metro Manila.
