Olongapo still ‘low risk’ for COVID-19, says OCTA

OLONGAPO CITY—The COVID-19 risk indicators in this city continued to show a slow virus spread as fewer residents contracted the viral disease in the past days, independent analytics group OCTA Research said Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Citing data from the Department of Health, OCTA said the average daily attack rate (Adar) in this city had been classified as “very low” at .60. Adar refers to the number of individuals found infected for every 100,000 people.

The virus reproduction rate was also “very low” at .14, while the healthcare utilization rate was “low” at 39 percent.

Only the positivity rate of 6 percent remained moderate, OCTA said.

The city’s active cases as of Tuesday stood at 20 after recording no new patients and two recoveries.

Since the pandemic struck in 2020, Olongapo has registered 6,952 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 6,587 recoveries and 345 deaths.
