Cop tagged in murder of Cebu couple yields
CEBU CITY – A policeman surrendered Sunday after being tagged in the murder of a couple in Barangay Panadtaran, San Fernando in south Cebu.
Staff Sergeant Junrey Gillana Batobalunos, 42, also voluntarily turned over his KG9-submachine pistol and magazine to the City Intelligence Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO), where he was assigned.
A report from the LCPO did not show that Batobalunos admitted his participation in the crime or surrendered to clear his name.
Batobalunos was linked to the Feb. 13 slaying of Panadtaran barangay councilor Ma. Louela “Malou” Baringui-an and her husband Peter in the couple’s residence in Sitio Tapok-tapok, Panadtaran.
