CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — Uniteam’s presidential and vice presidential tandem of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte joined Pampanga Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda during the latter’s birthday celebration at Kingsborough Convention Center here on Monday.
But journalists were barred from covering the event, with soldiers and police officers screening visitors.
A staff member of Pineda said the Kingsborough event was “not a political rally.”
Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her son Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo were seen among the well-wishers.
Senatorial candidates Robin Padilla, JV Ejercito, Chiz Escudero, Joel Villanueva and Juan Miguel Zubiri were also present, having their photographs taken with local officials.
