Pinedas of Pampanga seek reelection in 2022 polls

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The son and mother tandem of Pampanga–Gov. Dennis Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia Pineda–are seeking reelection for their second term.
They filed their certificates of candidacy at the Commission on Elections in this city right after convening mayors and congressmen belonging to the local party Kambilan for a show of force Thursday.
In an interview, they said they would continue to prioritize health programs and work for the recovery of Pampanga from the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the same occasion, Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque said the rival of the governor for the post, Danilo Baylon, lost thrice in his mayoral bid in Candaba.
“How can he win at the provincial level when he cannot even win in our town?” Maglanque asked.
