Shabu worth P223K seized in Rizal, Cavite busts; 7 drug suspects nabbed

LUCENA CITY – Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested seven suspected drug pushers and seized over P223,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in San Mateo town in Rizal province and Bacoor City in Cavite province on Friday and Saturday.

The Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police reported that Dennis Sumampong, Benito Laurel and Alving Libatique were nabbed after they sold a pack of shabu to a police agent in a transaction in Barangay (village) Silangan around 1:55 a.m. Saturday. The suspects were found carrying three plastic sachets of shabu worth P74,120.

In Bacoor City, anti-narcotics agents collared Nolie Garate, Edzel Aguirre and Kim Pangan in a drug sting in Barangay San Nicolas 3 on Friday at 5:50 p.m. The three yielded 20 grams of shabu worth P136,000.

Zaldy Cañaveral was also busted in Barangay Panapaan 3, also in Bacoor, at around 8:30 p.m. with P13,600 worth of shabu seized from him.

The seven suspects are now facing criminal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
