LPA’s trough to bring scattered rain showers in Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines — The trough or extension of a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday.
According to Pagasa’s forecast, the northeast monsoon or amihan continues to affect the northern and central Luzon, while the rest of the country except Mindanao may experience fair weather.
“Sa area ng Mindanao, possible silang makaranas ng makulimlim na panahon na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkidlat, pagkulog dahil sa trough ng LPA sa labas ng Philippine area of responsibility,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.

“Itong LPA na ito ay shallow LPA lamang na ineexpect natin na possibly by the next coming days or the next 24 to 36 hours ay magdissipate na lamang ito,” he added.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

Iloilo City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
