MANILA, Philippines — A fugitive listed in the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) most wanted individuals was arrested by authorities at Guagua, Pampanga, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Friday.
PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos confirmed reports from the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO), which said that the most wanted person, identified as Crispin Jimenez, 34, of Lubao Pampanga, was arrested during an operation along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Guagua’s Barangay San Matias.
Jimenez was arrested based on an order issued by the Branch 53 of the Regional Trial Court in Guagua.
He is wanted for two counts of rape, under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act No. 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
According to the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-120, Jimenez is in the list of National Most Wanted Person, with a P130,000 bounty for his arrest.
Both Police Regional Office-3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay and Carlos lauded the officers for arresting the fugitive, and for ensuring that Central Luzon is not a safe haven for criminals.
“Our stance against Most Wanted Persons remains unabated and I commend our police officers for remaining on their toes in our relentless fight against criminality,” Carlos said.
“The community deserves nothing less than a truly safe and peaceful environment,” he added.
