Rider dies in motorcycle-van collision in Batangas

map-batangasLUCENA CITY––A motorcyclist died Thursday after a van hit his vehicle in Calatagan town in Batangas province.

The Batangas police reported that Danilo Hernandez, 40, was traveling aboard his motorcycle when an approaching Toyota Hiace van driven by Ronnie Vipinoso hit it around 8 a.m. in Barangay Talisay.

Hernandez suffered grave injuries and died while being taken to the Calatagan Medicare Hospital.

Police said Vipinoso tried to overtake the vehicle ahead of him but collided with the oncoming motorcycle. The van driver is under police custody. INQ
