OLONGAPO CITY — At least 60 more patients here have recovered from COVID-19 in the last two days, bringing down to 25 the city’s active infections, local data showed on Wednesday.
According to the city’s COVID-19 task force, only seven cases were added to its tally during the same period, raising to 6,943 the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since 2020.
The mass recoveries increased to 6,576 the city’s number of patients who were cleared from the viral disease. The figure reflected a 95-percent recovery rate.
Data also showed that the city’s COVID-19 death toll slightly rose to 342 after an 82-year-old man succumbed to the virus complications, such as acute respiratory failure.
Independent analytics group OCTA Research on Wednesday said the COVID-19 risk classification in the city has already been downgraded to “low” a month after it experienced a virus surge.
