BUSTOS, Bulacan — A robbery hold-up suspect was killed during an alleged encounter Wednesday with police in Barangay Bonga Menor in this town, police said.

Col. Rommel Ochave, Bulacan police director, said Edgardo Lora Jr. from Pilar town, Bataan province, was killed after he engaged the responding cops in a shootout around 2: 30 a.m.

Lora reportedly stole a sling bag from his victim at gunpoint and tried to escape onboard a motorcycle. The bag contained P20,000 cash, investigators said.

The Bustos police issued a flash alarm, but Lora refused to stop when flagged down, prompting the police to chase him.

The police recovered a .9mm pistol loaded with bullets, his driver’s license, and the victim’s money from the slain suspect.
