Quezon village councilman nabbed for illegal firearm

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested Tuesday a barangay councilor in Tiaong town in Quezon province for illegal possession of a firearm.

The Tiaong police reported that operatives, with a search warrant, swooped down on the house of Ricky Galangga, 41, in Barangay Cabay and seized a .45 pistol, three magazines, and 24 bullets. The firearm was undocumented.

Galangga is detained at the Tiaong police jail and faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
