MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao on Monday said he will clean his senatorial lineup of candidates who are openly backing rival bets.

“Oo. Para ka nang tanga no’n, nag-endorso ng isang president tapos nasa iyo pa,” he said in a media interview when asked if he plans to remove from his slate senatorial candidates openly endorsing another presidential bet.

(Yes. You look stupid when a candidate is backing your opponent but is still on your lineup.)

Senatorial candidate Neri Colmenares was earlier dropped from Pacquiao’s slate for supporting the candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Meanwhile, the tandem of Senators Panfilo Lacson and Vicente Sotto III earlier dropped reelectionist Sherwin Gatchalian and former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista from its slate for endorsing the candidacy of Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Gatchalian is also in Pacquiao’s Senate slate. He said he and his camp will still discuss whether there will be movements in his senatorial lieneup.

“Pag-uusapan namin ‘yan kung ano ang dapat gawin, pag-usapan namin, i-final ko ‘yung list namn about sa mga lineup namin,” he said.

(We will talk about what we should do. We will finalize our list.)
