Zambales to start COVID-19 jabs for 5-11-year old kids

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––The provincial government will launch Tuesday the COVID-19 vaccination for 5 to 11 years old children, hoping for a high turnout despite the hesitancy prevailing nationwide.
In an announcement Sunday, Feb. 13, Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health officer, said the mass vaccination for children within this age group would be at Balin Sambali Bldg., Zone VI in the capital town of Iba.
Bueno earlier said they would accept walk-ins for the pediatric vaccination to encourage more parents to take their children to the vaccination site.
Last week, the national government began the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination for ages 5 to 11, jabbing close to 10,000 minors during the first day on Feb. 7. A total of 32 pilot sites participated in the simultaneous vaccinations.
The Department of Health was targeting to vaccinate over 15 million children in this age group.
