MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday recognized her supporters for giving her the strength to work for “more than 18 hours.”
Robredo, who is running for president in the upcoming elections, met more than 20,000 of her supporters who gathered for the “People’s Proclamation Rally” at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
“Alam po natin, alam po natin na marami tayong kailangang trabahuhin, pero ‘yung pinapakita niyong pagmamahal, ‘yun ‘yung nagbibigay sa amin ng lakas para araw-araw, gigising ng maaga, more than 18 hours magtatrabaho,” she said.
(We all know that we have so much work to do, but the love that you show gives us the strength to wake up early and work for more than 18 hours.)
Robredo told her gathered supporters that the first week of the campaign took her to Zambales, Bataan, Olongapo City, Laguna, Batangas, Camarines Norte, Albay, Sorsogon and Camarines Sur.
“Kami po ay puyat na puyat… Para po sa inyo, talagang sinisipagan namin,” Robredo said. “Alam ko na marami dito, mas mahaba pang oras kesa 18 hours ang trinatrabaho araw-araw. Pero ginagawa po natin ‘yan para mas maraming mga kababayan natin ang makausap natin.”
(We lack sleep, but we try our best for you. I know that many here of you are working for more than 18 hours. But we are doing what we can to reach more of our countrymen.)
