LUCENA CITY – A man reportedly hacked and injured his younger brother over a petty family feud in Pagbilao town in Quezon province Saturday midnight.

Pagbilao police reported that Freddie Carandang, 26, armed with a bolo, barged into the house of his brother Jeric, 22, in Barangay (village) Talipan at midnight or 12 a.m.

The siblings had a heated argument after which, Freddie who was reportedly drunk, hacked Jeric several times and escaped.

The victim sustained injuries and was brought to the nearest hospital.

Police Corporal Ken Niel Reyes, case investigator, said the hacking incident was caused by a family dispute.

“It was caused by only a small issue,” he explained over the phone. He did not elaborate.
