MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies and rain over Cagayan, Visayas and parts of Mindanao on Friday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
According to Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario, the northeast monsoon, locally known as the “amihan” will continue to affect parts of Luzon.
“Patuloy pa rin ang makulimlim na panahon na may mahinang pagulan diyan sa may Cagayan area samantalang maaliwalas na panahon ang mararanasan sa ka-Maynilaan at nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon,” said Ordinario.
(The cloudy weather will continue with light rain in the Cagayan area while clear weather will be experienced in Manila and the rest of Luzon.)
“Maliban na lamang ‘yan sa hilaga at gitnang Luzon samantalang isolated rain showers or thunderstorms naman dito sa Central Bicol Region, Mimaropa area at Calabarzon na rin,” he added.
(Except in northern and central Luzon and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms here in the Central Bicol Region, Mimaropa area and Calabarzon as well.)
The easterlies on the other hand, will bring rain and overcast skies over the entire Visayas and the majority of Mindanao, except Zamboanga Peninsula where generally fair weather conditions are expected.
No storms or low pressure areas are also expected to enter the country’s area of responsibility until Feb. 14, said Ordinario.
