Mongrel sniffs out 2 bombs in Talisay
A DOG led his owner to two vintage bombs in Canton Beach, barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, south Cebu, yesterday.
Ex-army soldier Joel Vergara said “Pogi,” a mixed-breed dog or “askal,” was digging in a spot where garbage used to be dumped.
Vergara told police that Pogi’s owner followed up and found the two bombs buried in a shallow hole.

Vergara, a member of Fisheries Sea Ecological Care (Fiseca), said the bombs were turned over to him at their nearby office.
Vergara said the unexploded bomb was turned over to the Talisay City police, which alerted the bomb disposal team of Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) for its proper disposal./correspondent gabriel bonjoc
