400 delegates join ‘Heritage by Dusk’
The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) organized a “Heritage by Dusk” tour that was participated by around 400 delegates of the 45th Annual Convention of the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges (APMC) last Feb. 10.
The delegates visited Cebu City’s museums, such as the Casa Gorordo museum, Museo Parian sa Sugbo, Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, Cathedral Museum of Cebu, Basilica del Santo Niño Museum, Museo Sugbo and University of Southern Philippines Foundation’s Rizaliana Museum and Fort San Pedro.
They also visited Colon, the city’s oldest street, Plaza Independencia and the Magellan’s Cross.
Heritage by Dusk is patterned after RAFI’s Gabii sa Kabilin held every last Friday of May.
It was held at dusk between 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Heritage by Dusk gave the delegates a memorable experience of the rich culture and heritage of Cebu,” said Dr. Anna Marie Pato, a professor of the Cebu Institute of Medicine, which organized the 45th APMC convention.
History major students of the University of San Carlos-Department of Anthropology, Sociology served as tour guides.
The event served as a platform for tour guiding apprenticeship for the students.
Culture and heritage is one of RAFI’s focus areas. Its other focus areas are integrated development, micro-finance and entrepreneurship, leadership and citizenship and education.
