MANILA, Philippines — The tandem of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III headed to Quezon City for the second day of the official campaign period.
On Wednesday afternoon, Lacson and Sotto went to the Quezon City Hall to pay a courtesy call on Mayor Joy Belmonte.
On their way to Belmonte’s office, the senators were greeted by city hall employees.

Sotto, who is seeking the vice presidency, began his political career in Quezon City when he won as its vice mayor in 1988.
His son, Gian, currently serves as vice mayor of the city and vying for reelection this May.
The tandem is set to hold a campaign program at the QC Memorial Circle covered court later in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, the veteran senators officially started their electoral bids in Cavite, the home province of Lacson.

The tandem’s national election campaign will be mounted on “grassroots consultations with ordinary folks mostly in underprivileged areas in order to have a firsthand account of the most common and ordinary problems and issues confronting our people,” Lacson earlier said.
The tandem is promising to “fix” the government to uplift the lives of the Filipino people.
