Sara Duterte’s call: ‘We must protect Bongbong Marcos’

MANILA, Philippines — “We must protect Bongbong Marcos.”

Vice presidential candidate and incumbent Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said this Tuesday on the first day of the campaign season for the May 9 elections.

Duterte-Carpio said she believes in the leadership skills of her running mate, presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Bakit si BBM (Bongbong Marcos)? Dahil naniniwala ako sa kakayahan niya na mamuno bilang pangulo. Napatunayan na ito ng kaniyang malawak na karanasan bilang local chief executive at bilang legislator,” Duterte-Carpio said before their supporters at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan where they launched their tandem’s national campaign.

“The kind of experience we need not only to sustain the growth and development spurred by the current admin, but also to bring a more prosperous future. We must protect President Bongbong Marcos,” she added.

Duterte-Carpio likewise pushed for more jobs and quality education for Filipinos.

“Government can do better. We should stand tall, united, and resilient. Ang gusto nating lahat, trabaho at hanapbuhay para sa karamihan, kalidad na edukasyon para sa mga kabataan, at mapayapang pamumuhay,” she said.

“Tatlo lang, pero hindi ito madali. At hindi tayo susuko. Magpupursige tayo dahil mahal natin ang Pilipinas,” she added.
