MANILA, Philippines — Around 60 million individuals in the country are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles reported Tuesday.
During the Palace press briefing, Nograles said that the government has administered a total of 129,125,464 vaccine doses.
Of the figure, 60,783,897 were injected as first dose while 60,145,895 are second doses and single-shot vaccines.
This means, 60.1 million of the 77-million target population are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Nograles added that 8,240,672 booster doses have been administered.
The government is targeting to fully immunize 90 million individuals before President Rodrigo Duterte’s term ends in June.
The government is also aiming to give 72.16 million booster shots for the adult population and 12.74 million minors aged 12 to 17.
On February 7, the COVID-19 vaccination of minors aged five to 11 commenced. The government is eyeing to inject vaccines to 15.56 million minors in the said age group.
