DOH: VaxCert holders must get new certificate as old version to be outdated

The DOH has urged those who have generated their VaxCert before February 7, to get new vaccination certificates because the QR codes in previous documents will soon become outdated.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has urged those who have generated their VaxCert before February 7, to get new vaccination certificates because the QR codes in previous documents will soon become outdated.

VaxCertPH is the country’s vaccine certificate system being managed by the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and DOH. According to DOH, VaxCert has been updated with new features.

“VaxCertPH has been updated with new features! All citizens who generated their certificates before February 7, 2022 are urged to request the new version of VaxCertPH in the portal, since the QR code of previously generated certificates will become outdated and unreadable,” the DOH said in an advisory on Facebook on Monday.

“Regenerate your VaxCertPH if you already have it, or get your VaxCertPH 48 hours after your full vaccination,” the DOH added.

According to DICT, VaxCertPH serves as a “free, self-service portal that can be accessed through https://vaxcert.doh.gov.ph where vaccinated citizens may acquire a copy of their VaxCertPH certificate.”

“The VaxCertPH certificate is used to represent the COVID-19 vaccination status of a citizen of the Philippines and non-Filipino citizens vaccinated in the Philippines,” the agency added.

The certificate can also be considered proof of vaccination for international travel since it complies with the digital guidelines issued by the World Health Organization.
