MANILA, Philippines — Easterlies and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” will bring light and isolated rains over the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Sunday.

The northeast monsoon will cause cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the same weather system.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the easterlies.

A gale warning is up in 15 areas in the country, Pagasa said.

(Currently, many areas in our country have a gale warning or threat of high waves.)

The following areas may experience up to 4.5 meters of waves or equivalent to around one and a half floor of a building:
