Dizon defends Duque on corruption raps
CEBU CITY — A colleague of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III in the national pandemic task force came to his defense after the Senate committee recommended that he face corruption charges.
Vince Dizon, the presidential adviser for COVID-19 response and testing czar, said Duque had explained clearly that the Department of Health had no involvement in the pandemic deals with Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation.
“I think Secretary Duque is very cooperative. He has always been very transparent. And I think the truth will eventually come out,” said Dizon, who attended the vaccine rollout Wednesday in Cebu City pharmacies.
“Of course, we respect the (Senate Committee) reports that are coming out, but these will have to be responded to in the proper forum,” he added.
Duque was supposed to deliver a speech during the event. No reason was given as to why the secretary was unable to attend the activity.
