Metro Cebu’s power restoration falls short of target

CEBU CITY, Cebu, Philippines — The power distributor in Metro Cebu was unable to fully restore electricity on Jan. 31 as promised.

Raul Lucero, president of Visayan Electric Co., admitted they underestimated the damage brought by last December’s Typhoon Odette (Rai) in residential areas and needed time to fix connections in the inner portions of their franchise area.
