Taguig cops seize P136,000 worth of shabu in 3 anti-drug ops
MANILA, Philippines — Taguig City police officers arrested four people and seized over P136,000 worth of suspected crystal meth or shabu in three separate anti-drug operations.
Reports from the Southern Police District on Monday said that the first operation was launched at 12:15 p.m. of Sunday along Magsaysay Avenue of Barangay New Lower Bicutan, where a certain Domver Parzan, 34, was found in possession of illegal drugs.
After officers chanced upon the suspect, police said one transparent sachet of shabu weighing 3.1 grams, estimated to be worth P21,080, was seized.
The second operation occurred at around 4:50 p.m. when an on-duty searcher in Taguig City Jail’s Male Dormitory at Camp Bagong Diwa found 38 plastic sachets comprising a crystalline substance suspected to be shabu from a package that appeared to be meat viands.
The rider who made the delivery who was arrested by the police was identified as Angelo Quibilan, 23. The shabu recovered from him weighed around 16.4 grams and was worth P111,520.00.
Article continues after this advertisementAnother operation in Taguig’s Barangay Ususan at 6:20 p.m. followed, during which officers discovered two suspects involved in drug activities.
Less than one gram of shabu was seized from Archie Andres, 25, and Cedrick Barquilla, 31, which is estimated to be worth P3,400.
SPD said the suspects would face cases for violating sections of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. All are also presently held at different Taguig Police sub-stations, while the pieces of evidence have been brought to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical investigation.
