PNP reports slight increase in active COVID-19 cases at 1,607

MANILA, Philippines — The number of police officers and personnel still infected with the coronavirus increased to 1,607 as of Monday, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

This figure was at 1,597 on Sunday, January 30, the PNP added.

Latest date from the PNP’s Public Information Office showed that the slight rise was due to the 132 new COVID-19 cases that were recorded on Monday even as 122 patients were also reported to have recovered from the illness.

All in all, the PNP confirmed the COVID-19 infection of 48,193 police officers and personnel since 2020, including the recovery of 46,460.
