Tarlac’s COVID-19 cases down by almost 400 in a week
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The active COVID-19 cases in Tarlac province dropped to 959 on Friday, from 1,342 a week ago, data from the provincial government showed.
On Friday, Tarlac registered 122 new cases, 274 recoveries and zero deaths.
On Thursday, the province recorded 127 new cases, 207 recoveries and a single death.
A five-month-old boy from Tarlac City and a nine-month-old from Mayantoc town were among the new cases on Friday. Both had mild to moderate symptoms and were confined in medical facilities.
The capital city of Tarlac has the most active cases at 423, followed by Capas with 89 and Concepcion with 69.
Article continues after this advertisementSince the pandemic broke out in 2020, the province has recorded a total of 22,290 COVID-19 cases, of which 20,482 have recovered while 849 had died.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of Friday, the provincial government said at least 893,404 residents have been fully vaccinated against the viral disease.
The number is 59.4 percent of Tarlac’s total population of 1,503,456, based on the 2020 national census.
Some 103,818 residents are still waiting for their second dose of the vaccine.
