MANILA, Philippines — Individuals who have received the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine may now receive a booster dose, the Department of Health (DOH) said Friday.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a Palace press briefing that those who received Sinopharm shots can have the Sinopharm as homologous (same brand) booster, and AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Pfizer as heterologous (mixed brand) booster at least three months after the second dose.

Meanwhile, Sputnik Light can now be used as a booster, according to Vergeire.

She said the Sputnik Light can be used as a booster shot for the AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac primary vaccination after three months of the second dose.

Members of the country’s Vaccine Expert Panel earlier noted that the single-dose Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine is a “good candidate” for a booster shot.
