MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Eight infants and nine children were among the 232 new COVID-19 cases in Tarlac, the provincial government disclosed on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
The patients include a 1-day-old boy from La Paz town, who was found positive for COVID-19. He was confined in a hospital.
A 25-day-old boy from Concepcion was also confined in a hospital Monday after testing positive for the viral disease.
In Capas town, a 1-month-old boy tested positive for COVID-19 and was also admitted to a hospital.
An 8-month-old boy in Tarlac City was hospitalized Tuesday after contracting the viral disease. An asymptomatic 1-year-old boy in the same city was quarantined after testing positive, while a 1-year-old girl with mild symptoms was confined in a medical facility.
In Bamban town, two 1-year-old girls with mild symptoms of COVID-19 were taken to the hospital.
The nine other children ages 2 to 10 years old were confined or quarantined. They are from Tarlac City and Bamban, Capas, Moncada, and San Clemente towns.
Tarlac registered on Wednesday 232 new COVID-19 cases, 200 recoveries, and a single death. The fatality was a 69-year-old man from Tarlac City.
The province’s active cases stood at 232 on Wednesday.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, Tarlac has recorded 21,977 COVID-19 cases, of which 20,001 had recovered while 848 had died.
