LPA brings rain in Bicol, Quezon, Palawan, N. Samar — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will bring rains in the Bicol region, Quezon, Palawan and Northern Samar on Thursday, the state weather bureau reported.

The LPA is currently located 255 kilometers west of Zamboanga City as of 3 in the afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Bicol region, Quezon, Palawan and Northern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Shear line or the tail end of a cold front will also bring cloudy skies with rains to Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Aurora.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa is still raising a gale warning in Batanes, the northern coast of Ilocos Norte and Cagayan, including Cagayan Islands, which will experience rough to very rough sea conditions with very rough sea conditions 2-8 to 4.5 meters of waves due to the surge of the northeast monsoon.

“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” Pagasa said in another advisory.
