MANILA, Philippines — Around one million COVID-19 vaccine doses, which the government procured, arrived in the country on Wednesday.
The National Task Force Against COVID-19 said that the 1,023,750 Pfizer vaccine doses were bought through a loan from the World Bank.
The anti-COVID shots were carried by Air Hong Kong flight LD456 which arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at almost 9 p.m.
With this shipment, the country has received a total of 216,543,270 COVID-19 vaccine doses since deliveries began in February 2021.
To date, 124,510,385 various COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in the country, data from the Department of Health showed.
Meanwhile, around 57.8 million individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Philippines as of January 25.
