4-month-old boy dies of COVID-19 complications in Olongapo City
OLONGAPO CITY–A 4-month-old boy had died of COVID-19 complications and became one of the city’s two latest deaths related to the viral disease, local data showed Tuesday, Jan. 25.
The infant succumbed to acute respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia, records of the city’s COVID-19 task force show.
A virus-infected 41-year-old man died after being hospitalized due to internal bleeding after a vehicular accident. His sample was collected and subjected to a COVID-19 test post-mortem.
Their deaths raised the city’s total number of fatalities related to COVID-19 to 326.
Data also showed that 87 more patients in this city have recovered Tuesday from the disease, further bringing the number of active infections to 480 from 527 the previous day.
Article continues after this advertisementThe city’s COVID-19 task force said the new recoveries raised to 5,800 the total number of infected patients getting cleared of the viral disease out of 6,606 confirmed cases since 2020. It reflected an 88-percent recovery rate.
But 42 new COVID-19 cases were also added to the city’s daily tally. The new patients include a 4-year-old girl from Barangay West Tapinac.
