BACOLOD CITY––The Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City suspended its regular services starting Monday, Jan. 24, after a spike in the number of frontliners who tested positive for COVID-19.

“We regret to inform the public that due to the spike in numbers of TLJPH frontliners in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure and infection, we are suspending regular services, including Outpatient Department and vaccination, and limiting admissions to extreme emergencies only,” a hospital advisory said.

“All referrals to the TLJPH should be coursed through the One Hospital System via city and municipal health offices,” it added.

“We again remind the public to refrain from unnecessary exposure and to observe minimum health protocols as cases continue to rise in our community.”

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said those infected with COVID-19 at the TLJPH were seven doctors, 18 nurses, four nursing attendants, a midwife, seven medical technologists, two pharmacists, one radiologic technologist, and 15 support/administration staff.

Their close contacts, under quarantine, were four doctors, ten nurses, two nursing attendants, five medical technologists, one radiologic technologist, and eight support staff, he added.
