Federal gov't system fits PH but Cha-cha ‘difficult’ – Marcos Jr.

MANILA, Philippines — While a federal system of government “fits” the Philippines, amending the 1987 Constitution may be difficult at this time, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Tuesday.

He said it is hard to push for charter change (Cha-cha) because the public believes that lawmakers are merely pushing to extend their terms.

Ngunit, ang pagpalit ng sistema ng gobyerno requires a constitutional amendment,” Marcos Jr. said during the “Bakit Ikaw? the DZRH Presidential Job Interview.”

Nonetheless, if the public believes that a federal system of government is applicable in the country, he said he will push for it.
