3 drug suspects fall, yield P1.3M shabu in Quezon bust

LUCENA CITY–Police arrested three drug suspects and seized more than P1.3 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation Tuesday in Pagbilao town in Quezon province.

In a report, Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, identified the arrested suspects as John Nico Talingting, 26, Ely Ferreras, 36, and Sharmaine Ferreras, 28.

Villanueva said anti-illegal drugs operatives collared the three after selling a pack of shabu to a police agent in a transaction around 10 a.m. in Barangay Ibabang Palsabangon.

Authorities found the suspects carrying 14 sachets of crystal meth weighing 64.51 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P438,668 and worth P1,316,004 in the street market.

The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

Villanueva said more operations would be conducted in the province to stop the menace of illegal drugs.

He warned criminals not to think of fighting back the police forces.

“Think back because we are prepared to face you,” Villanueva said.

The suspects were detained and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
