Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo drop as 105 patients get healed

OLONGAPO CITY––At least 105 more patients in this city have recovered from COVID-19, bringing its active infections to 545, local data showed Sunday, Jan. 23.

The latest tally of the local COVID-19 task force shows that the new recoveries raised the number of patients cleared of the viral disease to 5,648 out of 6,516 confirmed cases since 2020.

The city’s active cases the previous day stood at 580, the same data showed.

But 71 new COVID-19 patients were also registered Sunday in the city. Among the new virus-infected patients is a 2-year-old girl from Barangay Sta Rita.

The city’s COVID-19 death toll also rose to 323 after a 40-year-old virus-infected succumbed to multi-organ failure, acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, and septic shock secondary to community-acquired pneumonia.
